Fusionopolis is a science and technology powerhouse for Singapore.  It will bring together 1500 research scientists, engineers and technology experts from the public labs of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) as well as the corporate labs to find innovative solutions for the technological and lifestyle challenges faced by society and industry. 

The co-location of corporate and public labs, with a spectrum of capabilities such as materials science and engineering, data storage, microelectronics, manufacturing technology, high performance computing, and infocomm research, opens up opportunities for the integration of a variety of scientific and engineering disciplines, as well as public-private sector collaboration.  These are critical to driving innovations to benefit society and give Singapore a unique competitive advantage to create future industries.

Fusionopolis, with its close proximity to Biopolis, the biomedical sciences hub, also provides more opportunities for the integration of capabilities in biomedical sciences, physical sciences and engineering.  Such multi-disciplinary research will no doubt open up new knowledge spaces and spawn more innovations and enhance A*STAR's strength in driving the R&D industry to greater heights.
